For every minute it takes for the defibrillator to reach someone in need and deliver a shock, their chances of survival reduce by up to 10%. To help someone who is in cardiac arrest effectively, a defibrillator needs to be found as quickly as possible. In conjunction with the AED available at Folkestone Fire Station 9 minutes away), we could increase the ‘coverage net’ for AEDs in our community and Ward. We plan to play our part and make sure a lifesaving defibrillator is available should anyone in our community need it. Join us for ‘an evening at the races’ Join us for an action packed evening of chance and fun on Saturday 12th October at the Shepway Close Centre. All are welcome – bring the whole family – enjoy the fun and thrill of picking the winning horse, having a flutter and you never know, you could win big! This charity event is in support of 11th Folkestone Scouts, helping the Group to continue to provide excellent programmes and helping young people gain Skills for Life. It’s National Volunteers week! We just want to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers – not just the uniformed leaders or the Executive Committee members, but also to all the parents that help out on trips and adventures away from the HQ or lend a hand at section meetings when we need it.
