Poppy Appeal Collections 2018

We will be collecting money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Folkestone town centre on Saturday 10th November. The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers are all invited to come along to sell poppies and help raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause! That means that it would be great to have as many young people as possible giving up some of their time. All we are asking for is an hour from the Beavers and Cubs, and an hour and a half […]

Kent Scouts Big Cardboard Sleep Out

On 12th October, over 3,000 Cubs, Scouts and Explorers will raise funds for Porchlight by getting sponsored to spend a night outside in cardboard boxes.  The young people taking part hope to raise a significant amount for Porchlight’s work helping rough sleepers and vulnerable people across the county. ‘Knot’ bad! We’re joining in (by invitation only, please see My.SCOUT ) with a night at the hall, sleeping outside on the decking in cardboard boxes (and a sleeping bag!). There is no charge for this event, however, it is a fundraising event, so we’re asking everyone that comes along to get a few sponsors to help out. Download a copy of the sponsorship form from here. All participants will need to bring along their […]

Head over to your My.SCOUT page and update your consent to get the great pics back. Some useful documents to do with data protection, explaining what we […]

Once Floor unto the breach, dear friends, once Floor

(sorry for the terrible pun!) Thank you National Lottery players We needed a new floor. Unlike the last four times, we’re not just talking about a sand and paint, but a complete replacement of the flooring surface. I’m very pleased to be able to tell you that we were successful with our funding application from the Big Lottery Fund to fully replace the main hall floor. It’s all happening in October and should be ready for our first meetings back after the hols. Thanks National Lottery and National Lottery players!
