InTouch is the system used to manage communications at all Scout activities and events. It is flexible to allow those organising events to implement a system for communicating important messages between parents/guardians and the activity leaders, best suited to their particular circumstances.

To minimise the paperwork for leaders and parents when leaving the HQ, the InTouch system is in place to allow leaders to safely take their sections out and about without additional bits of paper and forms. It is based on a risk assessment for each individual activity.

We have single point of contact number which parents can use to contact the party should there be any need during the event. This number is not monitored at other times – only during the specified activity/event. The activity/event leader may also provide parents with another mobile number in addition to the main. During normal meetings at the HQ, this number can be used for emergencies and will go straight through to the phone in the hall. It will be available for 30 minutes before an event and 30 minutes after. Outside of these times, it will not be monitored.

InTouch number: 01303 720270

Our very clever phone system is provided free of charge by  Nimvelo We can’t recommend them enough for business level phone services.

Weekly Meetings/Local Visits on meeting nights
Parents will be informed via the Programme section of My.SCOUT and attendance at the meeting will constitute parental consent for the activity.

One Day Activities
Parents will be informed by Event Invitation/sign-up via My.SCOUT. Parents will need to explicitly ‘sign-up’ for the event (whether there is a charge or not). This will constitute parental consent.

Camps/Overnight activities
Parents will be informed by Event Invitation/sign-up via My.SCOUT. Parents will need to explicitly ‘sign-up’ for the event (whether there is a charge or not). This will constitute parental consent.

It is essential that personal details are kept up to date by parents, especially contact details and emergency contact details for use in the event of emergencies. The activity leader will refer to the information held on My.SCOUT should anything happen. Parents can keep this up to date directly on My.SCOUT by logging in (using an email link or the login function if an account has been set up by the parent) and clicking on the Personal Details tab in the top right hand corner.
