Lasting Memories is a community art and heritage project centered around the creation of seven giant beach poppies on the beaches of Folkestone at the end of June 2019.

The project will commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the ‘Treaty of Versailles’ which marked the peace in Europe following the end of WW1. The poppies will represent the seven months between the Armistice of WW1 and the eventual peace on 28th June 1919 with seven themed stories that impacted the local community during this time.

11th Folkestone Scouts will be joining in with a pebble painting workshop on 11th June 2019, after the Awards evening. All members from all sections and their parents/families are invited to join in with this amazing local project. All materials provided.
