Sleepover for them... party for you?

Drop the kids off with us for an evening of activities, fun and friendship while you enjoy the festivities of new years.

Join us for a party, activities and games, a movie and see in the New Year with Scouting friends from 6pm on 31st December 2018 until 10am on 1st January 2019 at our HQ. Everything we do counts towards badges (Nights Away stages, challenge awards and ultimately the Chief Scout Award for each section) as a usual nights away experience.

The evening kicks off with a disco and party, followed by challenge activities and bases with crafts, board games, competitions and other ‘scouty’ stuff. Then it’ll be time for a film and then welcome in the new year with the fireworks live from London. For our older members, there will be some more challenging and competitive games and a slightly later night!

Have tea with us, snacks and drinks all night long – including popcorn ‘popped’ in our own machine – and breakfast in the morning. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag, change of clothes, toiletries and a cuddly toy.

£25 donation (£30 after 21st December) to one of our young people’s fundraising efforts to attend the World Scout Jamboree, in North America in the summer of 2019.

As this is a fundraising event, we will only proceed if we have enough interest. Final confirmation will be given on 21st December 2018. Payment secures the place, via BACS and is non-refundable (unless we cancel the event).

*We can only invite members along, over 6 and under 18 years old. This is a normal Scout organised and run nights away experience with all the usual rules , restrictions and insurances.

Yes! This sleepover is being run as a Scouting event, to all the appropriate rules and regulations (POR) with a permit holder in charge of and responsible for the event (Craig) so if fully covered by The Scout Association’s usual insurance policies. All the activities count towards the badge work as usual.

Unfortunately not, unless they are members. Have a chat with one of the organising leader – Craig, Kate, Dave or Alistair.

Short answer: no.

This is a fundraising event for the World Scout Jamboree and requires a minimum number of participants to take part to make it viable. Once you book, your space is reserved until either you make the donation, or 21st December 2018. If you have not made the donation by 21st December, we will assume you no longer wish to take part and will cancel your booking.

Once you have made the donation, no refund is possible (as we will have worked on the assumption you are taking part and added that factor into our decision to go ahead or not).

If we decide the event is not viable and therefore cancel, we will refund all donations. We will make the decision and communicate it either way to all registered parties on 21st December 2018.

You will receive an email from the booking system with BACS details. Please make the donation by 21st December 2018 (at the latest – it must be in our bank on that day). We will then confirm if the event is going ahead or not by email on 21st December 2018).

If we cancel on 21st December 2018, we will refund all donations.
