Jamboree time.

noun: a large celebration or party, typically a lavish one.

To celebrate our 100th birthday, we’re taking 11th Folkestone Scouts on the road. Travelling (well!) over 100 miles, we’re off to the Peak District for an eight day, seven night camp in the shadow (well, nearly) of Kinder Scout mountain. There’ll be days out, including a day at Alton Towers, a trip on an underground boat through the Speedwell Caverns and a visit to Jodrell Bank – the home of the world famous Lovell Telescope and of course, some mountain hiking and usual campsite activities.

How much will it cost?

Including camp fees, transport to and from the hall, three days out, food and activities, the whole event is estimated to cost £250

This may change depending on numbers, but will not go up.

To help, we will be offering a payment plan of:

£50 booking fee (non-refundable)

£20 monthly payments for 10 months (starting in November 2019)

How will we get there?

We’ll be travelling in minibuses from the hall and back. This means we’ll have transport available to us for the duration of our visit to the Peaks and make getting around to the various days out a doddle.

We’ll also be taking a van for the equipment and personal kit – space will be a at premium, so pack light!!

What's the programme?

Saturday – early – meet at the hall, pack the van and set off

Sunday – site activities / local hike

Monday – Kinder Scout hike

Tuesday – site activities

Wednesday – Speedwell Caverns

Thursday – Jodrell Bank

Friday – Alton Towers

Satruday – travel back, empty kit van and home (late!).
